Gout can be provoked by high-purine diets–but many foods contain purine making diet choices limited. This research is showing that purines found in meat and seafood seem to be greater triggers for gout attacks than vegetable sources. More support that half our diet should be vegetables!!

While calcium supplementation has been touted as a means of reducing the risk of osteoporosis, supplementation is now implicated in heart disease. Certainly if you are deficient in calcium, supplementation may make sense. But the high potency calcium tablets may be contra-indicated. Read more here.
