Bis-phenol A (BPA) is commonly found in plastics and has been associated with many health concerns. Latest research is linking exposure to BPA with impaired brain development in children. BPA is difficult to avoid completely. Steps you can take are to use glass containers (no plastic bottles or cans), buy whole foods (no packaging on fruits, veggies, etc.), and buy meats at the butcher (instead of plastic wrapped).
