This article summarizes some of the early signs of food allergies in infants. The food introduction process for infants is very important. I recommend that babies reach the following milestones before food introduction even begins: ability to sit up, presence of teeth, and desire to eat. When foods are introduced, begin with vegetables, then fruits. Grains should be among the last to be introduced with no dairy for the first 18 months and no wheat for at least the first 2 years. I have a detailed list of food introduction recommendations for patients and recommend introducing only one new food per week.
