Ensure medical supervision of your supplements

Recent research indicates that over-the-counter supplements may be associated with increased risk of death.  This may be due to higher-than-needed levels of nutrients, forms of the nutrients, additives in the supplements, etc.  This research does not address potential causes.  At the very least, please avoid “one-per-day” high potency multi-vitamins.  Ideally, have your naturopathic physician or nutrition prescribe supplements as needed.  Click here to read an article that studied women and here for another recent article.
