Probiotics and Antibiotics

The use of probiotics may reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea.  If you are on antibiotics, I recommend using quality probiotics taken AT LEAST 2 hours away from your antibiotic dose.  I also recommend that probiotics be used for an additional 30 days after the antibiotic treatment has been completed. Probiotics that include Lactobacillus, Bifidobacter, and Saccharomyces boulardii may be particularly helpful.  Click here for more information.
