Food and High Blood Pressure

We’ve all heard that salt may raise our blood pressure. Many people with high blood pressure have been advised to reduce their salt and caffeine intake as a result. But did you know that salt is also hiding in seemingly unlikely places? To quote the attached article, “A blueberry muffin can have more than double the salt of a serving of potato chips.” The researchers also note a link between reduced salt intake and reduced heart attacks and strokes. Regardless of whether you suffer from hypertension or not, please stick to a whole food diet rich in vegetables and fruits and avoid packaged and processed foods.
