Melatonin for Migraines?

Recent research is showing that 3 mg melatonin provided better reduction in migraines than amitriptyline with fewer side effects as well. I still would not use melatonin as a first recommendation since it can also impact adrenal function. Food intolerances are a very common cause of migraines which should be addressed first.  Poor curvature or fixations in the neck are also a common cause which should be considered. Let’s not medicate/supplement anything before trying to address underlying causes.
