Is a Calorie a Calorie?

Love this research (albeit a small study) that supports what we are already learning about low fat diets–they tend to keep metabolism lower than those on a low carbohydrate diet.  My recommendation is that half of your plate be filled with vegetables, one-quarter of your plate with fruit (and/or more veggies!), and the last quarter with fish/meat/nuts/seeds/egg/dairy (if tolerated).  Use grains as a treat only (not a “snack” but a “treat”).  And remember to include lots of colorful vegetables and fruits!! Beautiful and delicious!!!
