Vitamin A to Prevent Skin Cancer

Even though this knowledge isn’t new, there is recent research indicating the benefits of Vitamin A supplementation, including reduction in the risk of skin cancer.  Supplementation should be monitored by a health care professional, however, since there is a risk of accumulating excess Vitamin A in our tissues and causing toxicity.  Foods can be our best medicine so include lots of carrots, cantaloupe, winter squashes, red cabbage, and dark green leafy veggies in your diet.  Cod liver oil is a great overall supplement that also contains Vitamin A as well as Vitamin D and essential fatty acids–triple whammy for your health!!!  To read article, click here.
