Omega-3’s and Brain Health

Although this isn’t new information, this study again confirms the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids for brain health.  In general, I recommend 1 tablespoon daily of a high quality cod liver oil.  Good over-the-counter brands include Carlson and Nordic Naturals.  PLEASE NOTE:  there are some medications and conditions which may reduce or change this recommendation.  For instance, those on coumadin or other blood thinners will need special monitoring as they gradually introduce omega-3’s; and some may need to use fish oil instead to reduce the amount of Vitamins A and D they are consuming.  Call for your appointment today and get your recommendation customized!!
