Food Sensitivities

While food allergies can be detected via blood evaluations, food sensitivities are better detected using bio-energetic techniques. Dr. Brown has training in a bioenergetic technique in order to evaluate potential food as well as environmental sensitivities. The FDA utilizes the term “electro-dermal screening” to describe a procedure that electronically measures skin resistance. The device that is used measures the electrical resistance of your skin by using a resistance meter very similar to an ohmmeter. This testing is a form of modern bio-energetic science. Reinhart Voll, MD, discovered the technique in Germany in the late 1940’s. Electro-dermal screening is currently available in England, South America, China, Canada, Australia, Europe and the United States. Despite the fact that this type of machine and this technique have been used in Germany and other countries for over 50 years, it is still considered a research device and procedure in the United States.

Upon completion of the evaluation, the patient is trained in avoidance and reintroduction of identified food sensitivities to definitively determine the extent of the body’s reaction to each food. Symptoms from environmental sensitivities tend to diminish when food sensitivities are eliminated. Additional treatment recommendations are also available for both environmental and food sensitivities.
