Here are some helpful hints to support your liver health. Bottom line is to eat lots of vegetables, drink plenty of water, exercise, avoid alcohol and simple carbs, and get good sleep. Hmmm . . . Sounds like an overall good plan for health! 🙂

PLEASE include bone broths in your diet. Simple and inexpensive to make. Delicious and nutritious, too! Boil the carcass of your chicken or turkey, or pick up some healthy marrow bones. Place in water and simmer–you can even do this in your crockpot! Add whatever vegetable you have–even the peelings! Strain and enjoy as a soup base, to saute vegetables, etc. Bone broths are wonderful for your health!! Read more here.

The Healing Power of Tears

We seem to live in a time when crying is discouraged. Whether we are uncomfortable crying or around others who are crying–we seem to want to try and stop the tears. In some cases, this is very helpful–trying to soothe and comfort our dear ones. But we should try and remember that tears are healing, too. Let’s consider just sitting beside someone grieving without trying to “wipe away the tears”. Check out this article.

Dairy-Free Sugar-Free “Egg Nog”

I know it’s hard to believe, but this is a wonderful treat that truly tastes like egg-nog. I got this recipe from a naturopathic student and do not know if it is copy-written . . . .But, it IS delicious!!
Blend 1 cup almonds and 3 cups water on high speed in a blender. Add 1 cup dates, 2 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp nutmeg–mix on high speed. If watery, add dates. If thick, add water.
